The population of the research consists of male and female athletes aged 12-37 and above who practice kickboxing with or without a license in Turkey. The sample consists of 548 randomly selected people who actively practice this sport in clubs affiliated with the Turkish Kickboxing Federation. In order to obtain the data, a survey titled "Expectations of Turkish Athletes from Sports and Factors Leading to Sports" developed by Sunay and Saraçaloğlu (2003), aiming to examine the reasons of individuals who do Kickboxing Sports, was applied. The survey was rearranged to suit the researcher's purpose and administered to the participants. The first part of the two-part survey includes demographic information of the participants, consisting of 8 items. In the second part, there are 8 items that measure the reasons why the participants started kickboxing, 9 items that measure the reasons for engaging in professionally, and 10 items that measure the expectations from this sport. The data obtained in the research were evaluated on a computer using the SPSS 22.0 statistical program. Kurtosis and Skewness values were examined to determine whether the research variables showed normal distribution. According to the analysis results; There are significant differences in the sub-dimensions of the reason for starting, the reason for doing sports and expectations, age, sports style, education level, years of doing sports, frequency of doing sports and national athlete status. While a significant difference was observed between the gender sub-dimension and the reasons for starting, no significant difference was observed between the reason for pursuing and expectations. Likewise, while a significant difference was observed in the marital status sub-dimension with the reason for starting and expectations, no significant difference was observed in the reason for engagement.

2024-12-14T00:00:00+03:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Sports, Health and Education Research https://www.ssedergisi.com/index.php/sse/article/view/67 Investigation of the Leisure Time Attitude Levels of Young People Participating in Summer Sports Schools in Elazığ Province 2025-01-14T13:19:17+03:00 Ceylan TANYILDIZ ctanyildiz1302@gmail.com Suriye TAN stan@firat.edu.tr
Leisure activities contribute to the physical and mental development of young people. A total of 28 volunteers, 13 tennis athletes and 15 sedentary individuals aged between 18-30 years, without any health problems and not taking antioxidant supplements, participated in the study. Both groups were instructed to jog at a low tempo, warm-up, gymnastic movements and technical movements of tennis. Subsequently, a tennis match consisting of 2 sets was played. In the study, blood samples were taken from the participants before and after the competition and centrifuged to determine oxidant and antioxidant activities. The separated serum samples were stored under appropriate conditions. Data distribution was checked. Paired samples t-test statistical analysis was used for normally distributed data and Wilcoxon statistical analysis was used for non-normally distributed data. According to the findings of the study, ischemia modified albumin (IMA) values increased in the experimental group before training and did not increase in the control group, while total sulfhydryl (-SH) values did not differ significantly in both experimental and control groups before and after training (p<0.05). As a result, it can be concluded that acute and anaerobic training increases oxidants and negatively affects antioxidant capacity in tennis players.
2024-10-07T00:00:00+03:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Sports, Health and Education Research https://www.ssedergisi.com/index.php/sse/article/view/66 The Effect of Preferred Game Types on Digital Game Addiction Analysing Adventure, Sports, War and Puzzle Games 2025-01-16T20:51:57+03:00 Emrullah YILMAZ yilmazemrullah47@gmail.com Tuğba MUTLU BOZKURT tmutlubozkurt@gmail.com

This study was conducted to examine the effect of the game types preferred by university students on digital game addiction in terms of adventure, sports, war and puzzle games. The research group consists of 436 students, 261 female (%59.9) and 175 male (%40.1), studying in various faculties at Bitlis Eren University in Bitlis province. Relational survey model, one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the study. ‘Personal Information Form’ and “Digital Game Addiction Scale” were used as data collection tools. Based on the findings obtained from the research, demographic variables of university students; gender, faculty type, having any addictive habits, student's school success, addictive habits, daily digital game playing time, tool used to play digital games, daily digital game playing time and preferred digital game type were analysed. In line with the analysis, a significant difference was found as a result of the analysis with gender, faculty type variable, having any addictive habit, student's school achievement, addictive habits, internet availability at home, daily digital game playing time, the tool used to play digital games, daily digital game playing time and preferred digital game type. In addition, as a result of the analysis between the preferred game types and digital game addiction scale and its sub-dimensions; a negative and low-level significant relationship was found. As a result, it can be stated that preferred game genres have negative effects on digital game addiction. This situation indicates that games such as puzzle and intelligence games have a lower risk of addiction levels, but war and strategy games have a high addiction potential and it is concluded that the preferred game types have an effect on addiction levels.

2024-12-29T00:00:00+03:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Sports, Health and Education Research https://www.ssedergisi.com/index.php/sse/article/view/55 A Search For Change: Foreıgn Vıdeo Assıstant Referee Applıcatıon In The Turkısh Super League 2024-09-19T12:39:11+03:00 İsmail ÖNER smailoner1@gmail.com Ozgur Karatas ozgur.karatas@inonu.edu.tr EMİNE emine.karatas@ozal.edu.tr
Recently, football in Turkey is talked about on and off the field events and referee decisions rather than sporting achievements and viewing pleasure. The video assistant referee application, which has a wide coverage in football in particular, has brought about discussions about its reliability in the public. The purpose of this research is a search for change: to examine the application of foreign video assistant referees in the Turkish Super League.

Document analysis method, one of the qualitative research methods, was preferred in the research. In this research, we focused on the foreign video assistant referees who took part in the matches from the 32nd week to the 38th week of our football league, in which the Turkish Football Federation's decision to implement foreign video assistant referees was taken in the 2023-2024 season. During the research process, academic publications, newspapers and internet news about VAR application. and the official statements of the Turkish Football Federation have been carefully read and interpreted. Some of the former referees whose opinions were included in our research argue that foreign referees will reduce the pressure on Turkish referees and contribute to more fair management of matches. However, there are also those who think that foreign referees will have a negative impact on the development of Turkish refereeing. While football club coaches think that foreign video assistant referees can contribute to Turkish football, there are also those who argue that this practice will not solve existing problems and may create new problems. In addition, it has been determined that the economic cost of foreign video assistant referee practice may be high, it may reduce the motivation of Turkish referees, and that it is a problem if it is implemented especially in the last part of the season and applied only in certain matches.

In conclusion; There are different opinions about the effects of the foreign video assistant referee practice on Turkish referees in the Turkish Super League. A common point is that there is a consensus on the need for improvements in the video assistant referee application in Turkish football.
2024-12-10T00:00:00+03:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Journal of Sports, Health and Education Research https://www.ssedergisi.com/index.php/sse/article/view/36 Nature Sports And Tourism Potential In Elaziğ Province 2023-11-02T13:18:01+03:00 Veysel Dayi veyseldayi23@hotmail.com Mikail TEL mtel@firat.edu.tr
The aim of our study is to reveal the nature sports and tourism potential in the province of Elazig.
